Directions:

Start by painting the bottom of their foot with brown paint, not to much or it will slip and not make a clear print. I like to set up by having a bucket of warm soapy water under my chair. As I gently paint their foot we talk about how does it feel. Is is cold? Not everyone is always game to have paint on their foot in that case I trace their foot. When painted have them step down on a white piece of paper, I use a heavy card stock so the paper does not wrinkle when dry. Then I pull out the bucket and wash their foot, again talking about how it feels. On their art tray I set the footprint we look photos of Robins and I help them see the bird they draw the tummy line then color it in, same for the legs and three toes. Using a dab of glue they add their eye and beak. This year I found and orange rounded foam triangle. In the past we have used just cut out paper. I like to try new things so they are not the same every year. Last years spring bulletin board I let the kids choose the color for their birds, It was very cute and crazy board.
