Valentine Bulletin Board Watercolor and Oil Hearts. “We Fit Together” puzzle piece painted with shaving cream and watercolors. I love to use the Valentines season to teach The Fruit of the Spirit:

I start by taking a photo of each Frog holding one of the Fruits of the spirit, I then add it to their puzzle piece. Our Valentine bulletin board starts with the puzzle heart. Titled We Fit Together. The pieces were painted using shaving cream and watercolors mixed. The frog set their piece ontop and then wiped the shaving cream off.

To finish the board we created these beautiful watercolor and oil painted hearts.

Supplies needed:

  • Oil (any kind)
  • watercolors
  • White card stock (heart shape)
  • plain paper
  • eye droppers
  • containers (for liquids)
  • glove (not needed just keeps hands clean)
  • paper towels
  • plastic tray

This process art is fun to set up then sit back and watch them create. Let them explore and discover what happens when you add water to oil. When they are done adding their watercolors and oil simply place the card stock heart on top of the wet paint and press. I had the frogs put on a glove to protect their hands from the oil mess. Then lift up the heart and let dry. I loved the way they turned out!
