This week we were learning about our feelings. What dose our face look like when were mad, how does it feel in our body? I started by reading the Dr. Seuss classic My Many Colored Days. This is a great story that uses colors to describe feelings. We not only made theses fun windows we used the color ideas to complete our Apple Feelings Books. My classroom if filled with three and four year old’s, some were unsure how to draw a face and it was fun for them to use the color instead.

I set the white paper in the box and let the child drop the colored bouncy ball on top. Only one at a time. The finger paint made them sticky and less likely to bounce out of the box while moving! You could use regular paint but be ready to catch it!!

While the paint is wet set your black outline on top. Then help child to use their finger to gently push around the black edge to set it into the paint. Then set it aside to dry. When dry cut around the edge and hang with tape in your window! I loved the way they turned out, were a mixed up bunch!

This year I changed it up a bit by using the watercolor doppers to dot, going along with the Letter of the Week “D”. Then they glued the black outline.
