Easel Inspiration Frame

Throughout the year I like to give a little Inspiration at the easel. I Love a good theme I regularly use the easel to incorporate themes into our classroom. Last year I started introducing different styles of painting combined with the Letter of the Week. For example Pablo Picasso for the Letter P. Using my print shop I made a page with examples of the art and a photo of the artist. I covered it in Laminate so  it could be washed and used again and taped to the easel while they worked. The children really loved it and I made more and more of these inspiration pages. This summer I found a cool frame at the Goodwill  for only $2.00, I love the Goodwill you will find me there most Monday nights. After some clean up and paint I had my frame! My classroom theme is Frogs so I used Mod Podge to attach a Frog Easel Inspiration to the top corner. I designed it so the frame can hung vertically or horizontally. Once attached to the wall I added a clip so I can change out the page easily.  A fun new addition to our classroom!

• old frame (No glass)
• Paint (I used craft paint because I had that on hand spray paint would also work great)
• painters tape
• Mod Podge

First I cleaned up the frame and added painters tape to the areas I wanted to keep. Then I was going to spray paint but to keep the cost down I used the craft paint I had on hand, and a fine paint brush to add different colors. Then I created a small Frog Easel Inspiration to add to the frame. The classroom theme is Frogs and you will find them everywhere in our room! I went over the frog and paint with the Mod Podge to give it a shine. I love the way it turned out and basically I spent $2.00 everything else I already had on hand!
